Police and crime commissioners

Police and crime commissioners are elected by the public to ensure the policing needs of communities are met as effectively as possible and to oversee how crime is tackled in your police force area.

Marcus Howard Pearcey

My name is Marcus Pearcey, and I am standing as an independent candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner because I believe Norfolk deserves less politics and more focus on keeping people safe.

I am not a career politician. For over 25 years I have built businesses across Norfolk, creating jobs, supporting local communities and solving problems. Throughout that time I have worked closely with people from every walk of life and have seen first-hand the challenges many families face.

The reason I want to serve as your Police and Crime Commissioner is simple. I believe we can do better for the people of Norfolk. Too many residents, particularly older people, feel vulnerable to crime, fraud and anti-social behaviour. Too many communities feel disconnected from decision makers. Our police officers work incredibly hard, but they deserve strong support, clear leadership and someone who will fight for the resources they need.

If elected, I will be an independent voice whose only priority is Norfolk. I will support frontline policing, embrace technology and innovation to help tackle crime more effectively, and ensure greater transparency so residents can see how their police service is performing.

I am not seeking this role for financial reward. The salary associated with the position will be donated to good causes that support Norfolk communities.

This role is about service, accountability and making a difference. I want to bring a fresh perspective, challenge outdated ways of working and ensure that every decision is focused on making Norfolk a safer place to live, work and raise a family.

Together, we can build a safer Norfolk with stronger communities and a police service that has the support it deserves.
