Martyn Anthony Emberson
Dear Resident
I am Martyn Emberson the Conservative candidate for the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner election on the 2nd May.
The Police Fire and Crime Commissioner’s job is to make sure that the Police and Fire Services focus on improving their response to evolving challenges.
After 34 years in the Fire Service, nine years as Chief Fire Officer, I know the difference between a political gimmick and world leading innovation and technology that delivers integrated emergency services.
No criminal behaviour is acceptable, the Police should enforce all laws.
Our Fire and Rescue Service must show us how to protect ourselves but be ready to deal quickly and effectively with an emergency.
- Northamptonshire has more police than ever, increasing the number of neighbourhood police officers.
- All crime is down:
Knife crime is down.
Violent crime is down.
Anti-Social Behaviour is down. - New ANPR cameras have increased arrests of dangerous drivers and stolen vehicles.
- £5m additional funding for the Fire Service, meaning more firefighters, new fire engines and equipment.
- Cutting duplication, releasing more money for the front line.
- Supporting victims and witnesses of crime.
- Supporting and protecting young people with an extra £17 million additional funding for community safety.
But there is more to do, and this progress is at risk.
Others will tell you they have all the answers but won’t tell you what they are.
Others say they understand the Police and Fire services but have no experience.
Others offer quick fixes that are nothing more than gimmicks.
None of these things are me. I have a plan. I have worked in the emergency services, I have a record of success.
Don’t put at risk all the progress that has been made.
